Acer unveils Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop with 300Hz refresh rate

At IFA 2019 in Berlin, Acer has unveiled the Predator Triton 500 gaming laptop with a blazing-fast 300Hz refresh rate. On top of that, the Taiwanese tech company also introduced entry-level gaming laptop – the Predator Triton 300, alongside with Predator Thronos Air gaming chair.

The Predator Triton 500 features a 15.6-inch Full HD display with a blazing-fast 300Hz refresh rate and 4th-Gen AeroBlade 3D technology. The gaming laptop is both slim and lightweight, measuring at just 17.9mm thin and weighs only 2.1kg.

The gaming laptop is powered by up to a 9th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor with GeForce RTX 2080 with Max-Q design. It has a durable, all-metal chassis and narrow bezels measuring just 6.3 mm with 81% body-to-screen ratio.

Acer Predator Triton 300

The Predator Triton 300 is the newest budget-friendly gaming laptop to the thin and lightweight Triton line. It is powered by up to a 9th-Gen Intel Core i7 processor with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics and 16GB DDR4 memory (upgradable to 32 GB).

The gaming laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a narrow bezel design includes a 144 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms overdrive response time. As for storage, it supports up to two 1TB PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 and up to a 2TB HDD.

Weighing just 2.3 kg, its aluminium chassis features the same matte black design with blue lights and accents found on other Predator laptops. It also comes with zoned RGB lighting, dedicated Turbo and Predator Sense keys, and WASD keys that are concave shaped and transparent.

In addition to that, the Predator Triton 300 also features superior thermal design found on all Predator laptops, including dual fans with Acer’s 4th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fan technology, CoolBoost technology and strategically placed air intake and exhaust vents.

Other features include Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650 module, Killer Ethernet, and Waves Nx 3D audio solution.

Acer Predator Thronos Air

Besides two new Predator Triton models, Acer also introduced the all-new Predator Thronos Air gaming chair with teal blue lighting. It is not just a gaming chair but also includes a modular desk and monitor arm.

The gaming chair, which includes a massage function, a cable management system, and footrest, can be adjusted to various angles (130 degrees inside the cabin and 180 degrees outside the cabin) for maximum comfort. Meanwhile, the desk includes an adjustable keyboard and mouse tray. A gaming desktop is placed at a platform provided behind the chair.

On top of that, the monitor arm supports up to three displays and can be manually raised and lowered with a handle conveniently located right below the middle monitor stand. A camera can be positioned right above the middle monitor, making it easy to live-stream the action to YouTube as well as to live streaming platforms for gamers like Twitch or Mixer.

The Predator Thronos Air is customizable with optional accessories, such as a seat stabilizer, a cup holder, a headset holder, a USB hub, and a camera.
